January
Implementation of Contract for supply of large diameter pipes, aimed for construction of surface gas pipeline (Blue Stream) between GazKomplektImpex Ltd., a subsidiary of JSC GazProm, and Industrial Union of Donbass. Over 30 000 tons of pipes (the total volume of the Contract) were supplied within one month.
February
Industrial Union of Donbass, UkrAziyaBud corporation (Kiev) and Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine (Minprompolitiki) announced the establishment of Consortium in order to ensure the performance of complete complex of works under the contracts awarded at the international tenders mostly in metallurgy, shipbuilding, general and electric engineering.
March
OJSC Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant upgraded the production line for manufacturing pipes of 12m length without transverse seam. The line was put into operation in October 2000. The said upgrading provided for the increase of assortment: O 711-1220 mm.
November
OJSC Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant began supplying the pipes for the construction of Zapolyarnoye-Urengoy gas pipeline (111 thousand tons). The contract was fulfilled in time with top quality.
December
IUD Corporation signed the long term trade agreement with OJSC Dneprovsky Metallurgical Works named after Dzerzhynsky (Dneprodzerzhynsk) of sale of the product, manufactured by the Works, in the external markets and of procurement with the main raw materials.
