Strategic corporate policy of IUD in the sphere of mechanical engineering is aimed at increasing the volume of high tech production, development of new samples of competitive equipment, improvement of quality and production efficiency.
Mechanical engineering complex of IUD is represented by such leading enterprises as OJSC Slavtyazhmash, OJSC Starokramatorsky Engineering Plant, OJSC Azovmash, OJSC Druzhkovka Engineering Plant, OJSC Donetskgormash, OJSC Engineering Plant (Gorlovka). Recent increase of the rates of production, as well as improvement of financial and economic indices, evidence of efficient operation of the aforementioned enterprises.
IUD provides the engineering enterprises with energy carriers and rolled metal production, makes provision for markets of engineering products. It is a regular customer of cranage, metallurgical and mining equipment.
For the period of favorable cooperation with the aforementioned engineering plants the export share of engineering products increased. In 2002 it made 31% of the index shown in the previous year. The increase of the volume of production in 2002 has made 186%.
