Power engineering
The activity of the corporation in this sphere is the formation of markets of natural gas and electric power among consumers of Ukraine and Europe, providing power engineering industry with additional volumes of natural gas for production of over limit electric power for Donbass and Ukraine, and also in reconstruction and modernization of outdated equipment, realization of the energy-saving program through re-equipment of the basic manufacturing industries.
One of the main purposes of the corporation is supply of natural gas and electric power to the Ukrainian industrial enterprises. From 1996 till 2002 Industrial Union of Donbass delivered 25 milliard m3 of natural gas and 400.829 million kWh to industrial enterprises of Donetsk region.
Due to resources of natural gas, Industrial Union of Donbass ensures continuous supply of natural gas to:
- iron & steel works;
- the main enterprises of regional engineering works;
- engineering works of mining sector;
- enterprises of coal mining;
- enterprises of power economy;
- railway, etc.
Corporation carries active work in gas pipeline constructions. From 1998 the following gas pipelines were constructed and set in operation — gas pipeline ‘Kramatorsk-Donetsk-Mariupol’ with diameter 1020 mm and length more than 170 km, gas — main with high pressure with diameter 720 mm and length 24,8 km, gas-distributing station and gas-distributing point, which provides for stable and smooth supply of natural gas for Public Joint Stock Company Iron and Steel Works ‘Azovstal’, gas pipeline ‘Mubarek-Gallyaaral’ (Uzbekistan) with length 150 km and diameter 1220 mm; fully completed and are ready for commissioning two oil bases in the cities Pan and Angren (Uzbekistan) with power 200 thousand ton each.
