Charity and patronage
From the very beginning of its foundation Industrial Union of Donbass is famous for its charitable activity directed to patronage of national art, science, education and sport, and also for support to needy and invalid persons. The corporation takes the active part in all social programs of Donetsk, investing in them more than 1 million UAH per year.
One of the basic directions of charity and patronage of Industrial Union of Donbass is active support to the Great Patriotic War veterans, pensioners and disable workers, constantly providing them financial support, presents and foodstuff. Moreover, the corporation constantly supports invalid miners and those who suffered from the extreme situations at the coal enterprises.
Thinking of the future of this country, the corporation supports children and their creative work, provides material and financial security to special boarding schools. Annual Charity New Year performance for children-inmates of boarding schools and orphanages of Donetsk region, organized by the corporation, gathers usually over 2000 children-orphans.
The Corporation invests heavily in Ukrainian physical culture and sport, constantly supports such football clubs as ‘Shakhtyor’, ‘Metallurg’ and other sports clubs, finances lots of sport events.
Since 1999 the corporation revives actively some kinds of sports, founding ‘IUD’ sport club with the motor rally and boxing teams, the sports club for kids and teenagers ‘Donetsk’ and the kids chess club ‘Young Grand Master’.
Corporation gives constant attention to needs of church, financing the construction of temples, churches and cloisters in Donetsk, Makeevka, Telmonovo. Moreover, the corporation provides complete material security to the asylum for the poor in the village of Greko-Aleksandrovka (Telmonovo area).
Traditional direction of sponsorship is the actions directed to the development of Donetsk region image. The corporation is a sponsor of such grant festivals as ‘The World Ballet Stars’, ‘Gold Scythian’, ‘The Pole Stars’ and others.
It's due to its financial support, the Anatoliy Solovyanenko Donetsk Opera & Ballet Theatre could produce several new plays, such as ‘Solomon's Songs’, ‘The Angel Tango’, ‘Bayaderka’, ‘The Seasons’, ‘Aida’, ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ and many others.
